3 Things Most People Don’t Know Changed on Kush & OJ’s Re-Release

On April 14th, 2010 — Just in time for 4/20 — Wiz Khalifa dropped his now legendary mixtape, Kush & Orange Juice.

This album became my stoner soundtrack for the year (and many years after). So, when it was re-released in 2018, yours truly couldn’t have been more excited to roll up and burn down.

But if you never listened to the original on sites like Datpiff, you may not have noticed that the re-release has quite a few changes to it.

For example, did you know…

  • The tracks “We’re Done” and “Skit 1” had to be completely scrapped due to samples of Demi Lovato’s Camp Rock”
  • Other tracks, “The Statement” and “Never Been” had to be remixed with new beats as the samples weren’t cleared.
  • The Skits were relisted and renamed to account for these changes

For any die-hard Kush & OJ fan, this stuff is common knowledge (and why I keep the old mixtape MP3s safely on a backup drive).

But to those who haven’t burned a few down to this classic album, some of these changes might come as a surprise.
