Coming from a legal market doesn’t make you better.
Experience does.
I run into this a lot in the cannabis space.
Both growers and professionals.
Often, they’ll equate experience with the market they live in.
Example:
“Of course I know about growing, I’ve lived in CO where it’s been legal for 10 years!”
Or
“I know a ton about legal weed; I live in Canada and the guy I worked with also owned a dispensary.”
Here’s the thing:
Squares are rectangles; rectangles aren’t squares.
By living and working in a legal market, you gain experience.
But it is not your residency that qualifies you; it’s the experience.
Smoking pot in Colorado for 10 years doesn’t make you an expert on Colorado’s legal market.
Growing weed in Canada in your basement does not make you an expert on cannabis market trends.
You can live in an illegal market — having never touched the plant — and be better informed on cannabis…
