Is hash rosin “hash”?

It’s a hot topic.

Let’s start this by saying RIP Frenchy. Frenchy Cannoli made invaluable contributions to the cannabis and extraction communities. Without question.

Yesterday, I saw Madame Cannoli comment on Lowtemp Industries’ post about ultrasonic cure techniques for hash rosin, calling into question whether hash rosin could/should be referred to as hash?

Then, this morning, I woke up to the post in the picture:

The good news:

The bad news:

Fighting colloquialism is a losing battle.

As a writer, I’ve had to make peace with slang replacing the originals on more than one occasion, in more than one industry.

So, when it comes to “Hash,” it’s important to remember:

Languages evolve over time.

At one point, cannabis extracts were colloquially referred to as “dabs,” “slabs”, “terps”, “hash”, all of which have specific origins for nuanced types of extracts and consumption methods and compounds, but are not…
