During the latest GrowHort session, we talked about how to set your plant-sitter up for success.
One of the best ways to do this is to prepare thorough documentation for your plant-sitter:
- Checklists of what needs to be done
- Notes on how to attend to specific areas, tents, rooms, or plants
- Clear signage on tents/rooms
Every time I plant-sit for Love For The Plant, and every time he does the same for me in my grow, I leave detailed instructions and notes to provide context and make the process as foolproof as possible.
It’s important to highlight lighting schedules, growth stages, locations of feed sources, visit schedule, and any notes that could be helpful (specific to rooms and plants, as well as in general).
This is the exact template I use:
I recommend segmenting your Plant-Sitter Guide by tent (or room).
For me, that means I have a small unenclosed area, a propagation shelf, a veg tent, a flower tent, and my GrowHort tent.
