The 3 Experienced Growers That Helped Keep My First Plants Alive

I had been interested in growing my own cannabis for a while, but I never seriously considered it until I popped my first seeds in June 2019.

In those early days, I didn’t know which way was up half of the time, and I owe a lot of the progress I made in those first few cycles to these three people:

Red (@AltitudeRanch)

I met Red years before I started growing. He sponsored my events and had tossed some seeds into the charity raffle. His seeds were the first seeds I popped, and his advice on feeding and plant care helped save my first cycle from complete disaster.

Ben Conte (@420bjammin)

Ben and I met through NORML and bonded over my growing interest in cultivation. The first person to plant-sit for me, he understood how to give advice to a first-timer without overwhelming them.

Jeremy (@LoveForThePlant)

Without question, Jeremy’s advice, mentorship, and support in my hobby grow has allowed me to learn at an exponential rate. His similar path as a grower offered insight and feedback reinforced the value of a network of hobby growers to turn to for help.

Without the generosity of these three growers with their time, knowledge, and resources, there’s no way I’d have made it through my first few cycles.

The importance of having access to advice from experienced growers cannot be understated.

And just like those that helped me, I’ll continue to help others start their first grow.
